The Danes can probably look forward to many small, new Princes and Princesses. The coming Crown Princess, Mary Donaldson, says to the newspaper ‘Politiken’ Sunday, that Crown Prince Frederik and her wish to have many children, raise them and not isolate themselves.
Mary Donaldson also says that she met her Mother-in-law to be already two years ago. Everything went well, so nothing stood in the way for engagement and now a royal wedding.
It was a nervous Mary Donaldson who once came to Denmark to shake hands with Queen Margrethe for the first time. But her boyfriend explained to her that his Mother would probably be equally nervous - which reassured her.
The Crown Prince has a warm heart Mary Donaldson, who prior to the wedding with Crown Prince Frederik has only given one interview to Politiken, praises Crown Prince Frederik for his human qualities.
-He has a very warm heart, he is loyal and honest, close to blameless. He is funny. He is so nice to be with. He is also curious and he can be full of surprises, says the coming Crown Princess.
Mary Donaldson believes that fate has brought the two of them together. Had she not met Crown Prince Frederik in 2000 during the Olympic Games in Sydney, they would probably have met during sailing competitions the following year in Tasmania, she says.
Business-minded Crown Princess
The business-minded Donaldson has already decided on her position on the Danish Monarchy.
-The development of society points towards a much more flat structure that results in the fact that the royal family can no longer have the same role as earlier. I believe that the royal family should consider other strategies for survival, she says.
My approach may be business like since I have worked with marketing and markets, Denmark’s soon to be Crown Princess Mary Donaldson says. She will offer her working capacity to volunteer organisations. |
