Today, when the Bishop gives his speech to the Royal bridal couple, he will only be speaking to them. He is certain that if he says something useful to them, there will also be something in it for the audience.

So says Erik Norman Svendsen in an exclusive interview with DR’s Mette Vibe Utson.

Full house
At today’s Royal wedding there will be lots of people inside the church.

It will fill the house. And there are probably more persons who wish to participate, but for whom there will not be enough room. However, there are many seats in the church – and above all there will be enough room to accommodate the closest family by the altar, he says.

But when I am speaking to the bridal couple, they will be the ones I will primarily be addressing, says the Bishop.

Around 80 million viewers
Erik Norman Svendsen does not mind that others will be listening. However, he does try to ignore that fact, that there might be around 80 million Europeans who will also be watching the Royal wedding today on TV screens.

That is not really useful to me, he says
